Which kind of key do you have?
- Push-to-start smart key
The car starts with a button while the key stays in your pocket. A new smart key has to be programmed to the car.
Smart key programming → - Remote head key
A metal key with lock and unlock buttons on the head. The blade is cut, then the chip and the remote are programmed.
- Flip key
The blade folds into the remote. Cut and programmed the same way as a remote head key.
- Separate remote fob
A remote on the key ring next to a plain key. Programmed to the car so the buttons work again.
Before you call: check the battery
If the buttons stopped working but the car still starts, the coin battery inside the fob may simply be dead. Try a new battery first. If the remote still does not work, or the car shows "key not detected", the fob may need to be programmed or replaced, and that is when we come out.
Adding a spare remote
With one working key it is usually simpler to add a second one than to start from zero after losing the last one. We bring the key and program it to the car where it is parked.

My key fob stopped working. Does it need programming?
Try a new coin battery first. If the buttons still do not work, the fob may need to be reprogrammed or replaced.
